Where are whe?

Parghelia is a municipality of the Vibo Valentia province that has 1.338 inhabitants and is situated at 75 meters above the sea level. It has an 8 km² of territory and a beach 8 kilometers long. It shares borders with the municipaly of Tropea (south), the municipality of Zambrone (north), municipality of Zaccanopoli (east) and with the Tyrrhenian sea (west). The town has almost been completely rebuilt during the 1920’s as a consequence of the earthquake that on 1905 destroyed Parghelia (only the Church of SS. Madonna di Portosalvo resisted). Thanks to the beautiful beaches (Michelino, Vardano and La Grazia among others), to the accomodations and to its proximity to Tropea (2 kms), it has become an important summer destination. Parghelia is one of the towns that belong to the Coast of the Gods: Vibo Valentia’s segment of coast with magnificent landscapes. The municipality includes two residencial areas: the administrative center Parghelia and the suburb Fitili.
